We all at some point in our lives suffer from lacklustre skin and while there are a beautiful array of products out there, I personally believe if you really want to make a lasting difference to your skin, skincare alone simply isn’t enough. You see for me, I am all about treating the root cause of a problem, as such, I created Touch Therapy – a unique treatment that works with your cells to restoring a healthy mind, body and soul. But what has this got to do with lacklustre skin? Well, if you want to treat your lacklustre skin once and for all you really need to find the root cause, which 9 out of 10 times is linked to what you are choosing to put into your body. As such, I thought for today’s post I would compile a list of some all-time favourite soul foods – all of which are packed full of the essential vitamins and minerals your cells need in order to make your skin glow. Cherries are full of an antioxidant called melatonin which stimulates new cell growth. As new cells grow and push to the surface any damaged cells you may have are forced to quite literally take a hike!
Spinach is loaded with antioxidants, so much so that can help reduce the onset of wrinkles if consumed regularly. Not only that but spinach can over time help to strengthen your skin tissue thanks to the fact that it can flush toxins out of your system.
Carrots are high in beta-carotene an antioxidant that is converted by your body into vitamin A (retinol). As such not only will they give your skin that enviable glow we all crave, but they will also over time help to improve the quality of your skin.
Pumpkin Seeds are packed full of zinc which is essential in terms of creating healthy new skin cells, therefore I highly recommend switching out your afternoon snack for a handful of yummy pumpkin seeds.
Walnuts are internal vacuum cleaners as they literally move waste out of our cells. Not only that but walnuts are also packed full of a vitamin E, which is widely known for it incredibly ability to accelerate healing.
Some Other Soul Foods Worthy Of A Mention Include:
Avocado’s, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Kale, Beetroot, Bell Peppers, Lemons, Dark Chocolate & Sweet Potatoes.
By keeping your cells nourished you are keeping yourself nourished.
