Serums are more often than not the forgotten skincare step, but trust me when I say if you invest in a really good one you can take your skin from good to great in a matter of days. Speaking of which, I would like to introduce you all to five extraordinary serums that have each in their own unique way helped to transform my skin.
Antipodes Chia & Kiwi Seed Superfood Serum (30ml NZD $54) – Designed to provide endurance against everyday aggravators – such as pollution, the wind and of course the sun – this limited edition serum not only feeds your skin with pure goodness to leave it looking and feeling naturally more revitalised, but it also rather brilliantly helps to protect our beautiful planet’s. You see with every bottle sold two New Zealand dollars goes directly to the World Wide Fund – a brilliant charity that is dedicated to stopping the degradation of our planet’s precious natural environment. Important worthwhile cause aside this super-nourishing serum is a real winner in my books – so much so I hope Antipodes makes it a permanent edition. Abundant in essential fatty acids this superfood serum effortless locks in moisture to give you skin (no matter what’s its condition) a seriously envy-inducing glow.
Recommended for: All skin types, but especially dry and/or dehydrated.
Antipodes Apostle Skin-Brightening Serum (30ml £35.50) – If you have any pigmentation issues trust me when I say you need this little bottle of goodness in your life. Designed to deliver fresh-faced beauty everyday Apostle not only helps to transform your skin, but it also helps to boost your confidence. Containing a carefully thought out blend of Waiwera mineral-blessed water (to boost your hydration levels), Vinanza Performance Plus (to decrease melanin production – aka the cause of pigmentation), Vinanza Oxifend (to reduce inflammation) and Kiwifruit (to maintain moisture in the skin) this water-based serum targets pigmentation to leave your skin looking brighter, clear and significantly more even – so even in fact that leaving the house without makeup on is no longer an issue for me.
Recommended for: For most skin types, but especially those who have some form of sun-damaged.
Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum (30ml £29.50) – Designed to keep your skin looking and feeling its best I often refer to this powerhouse of a serum as insurance for your skin. Packed full of Boysenberry extract (to nourish and refresh), Blackcurrant extract (to replenish), Kiwifruit extract (to hydrate) and Vinanza Grape extract (to improve elasticity and firmness), this water-based serum doesn’t completely rid the skin of signs of aging (no topical beauty product can), but it does over time help to strengthen your skin, thus making any current or future signs of aging appear less visible.
Recommended for: All skin types and conditions.
Antipodes Joyous Protein-Rich Night Replenish Serum (30ml £31) – Every once in a while I manage to stumble across a product that I just can’t seem to get enough off – Joyous definitely being one of them. Housing up to 19 amino acids to replenish protein at a cellular level, this intensive oil-based serum is a real joy to use (no pun intended I promise). Silky smooth in consistency this fragrant number glides effortlessly over your skin to leave it looking / feeling wonderfully hydrated, plumped and refreshed come morning. Just note a little bit really does go a long way.
Recommended for: Normal to dry skin types.
Antipodes Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin-Plumping Serum (30ml £27) – Loved by beauty editors and bloggers the world over this gorgeous award-winning serum 100% deserves every last bit of hype that surrounds it. Lightweight, yet potent this water-based serum absorbs quickly and effectively into your skin to leave it immediately feeling significantly more hydrated and plumped. Staring Vinanza Grape (to hydrate and protect), Waiwera Artesian Water (to nourish) and Mamaku Black Fern (to renew) this certified organic serum has for some years now had a really important place in my heart and not just because it offers a quick fix to any hydration issue I may have, but because it has also over time with consistent use really helped to significantly improve the overall appearance of my skin (read: it is smoother, softer and a lot calmer.)
Recommended for: All skin types, but especially dehydrated and dry.
To Note: All Antipodes products are cruelty-free and approved by the UK Vegetarian Society.
