When you are waiting for a long haul flight time always seems to drag, unless, of course, you turn it into an adventure too. A little foresight, some planning and some smart use of the amenities available can turn a long airport wait into an event that you actually look forward to. Here’s how:Relax yourself – Most people’s holiday start when they arrive at their chosen destination, but why not start your holiday at the airport. A lot of airports nowadays have a spa or relaxation area, so why not treat yourself to a luxurious massage or refreshing facial before your flight (you deserved it).
Be friendly – If there’s anything airport are rarely short of, it is people so why not strike up a conversation someone and compare trips, you never know you may even end up making a friend out of it. And if you are too shy to chat with a stranger people watching always helps time to fly by too.
Educate yourself – If there’s only one shop in your airport terminal I guarantee it will be a gift shop that will include plenty of books. So find a random book you like the look of and get reading – time will go by so fast that you will forget you were even waiting.
Write down your travel or holiday experience – Writing in a journal is one of the best things you can do. If you haven’t reached your destination yet put pen to paper and plan everything you want to do, you could even make a fun bucket list that you can tick off while you’re there. However, if you are travelling home take a moment to write down all the experiences you have had so that the memories will last forever.
